Puppy Information


Chocolate Puppies- $550


* A $200 non-refundable deposit will hold your choice of a pup.  First deposit, first pick, second deposit, second pick, ..........In the unfortunate event that your puppy dies or if our vet does not issue a health certificate because of a life threatening disease, you will be issued your deposit back in full.
Our puppies go to their new families at around 8 weeks of age.  Your puppy will come with limited AKC registration, Florida vet health certificate, current shots/dewormings,  and lots of LOVE!  
*Limited registration means that your pup would NOT be used for breeding or show purposes.

Our puppies are raised inside our home for the first 4 weeks of life.  This way, they can be monitored more closely and it gives us a chance to bond very quickly to them.  We have found that there is a difference to raising pups inside in the early days as opposed to an outside nursery area.  

 

At about 3-4 weeks of age, the pups are moved to their outside "nursery".  Here they have a safe place to run  and play as well as a safe shelter to keep out of the elements.  Our pups recieve lots of kid attention.  My 2 boys love to play with and carry around the pups, so they go to their new homes very kid friendly (probably more than they want to)



 

At about 6 weeks, we take them off of mommy and put them on a high protein (30%) puppy dry food.  We purchase this from our local feed mill.  We supply a bag for you when you get your puppy to help him/her transition to your food better.  We recommend keeping your puppy on a high protein formula (27% or higher). 

CRATE TRAINING

Crate training usually begins at about 7-8 weeks.  Our pups go to their families at about 8 weeks so we do not start the crate training process.  It will be easier for you and your puppy to start this process together if you decide to do so.

DeWorming Schedule

We give our puppies, as well as their mother, dewormings every week starting at 2 weeks of age.  We use Nemex-2 weekly and Panacur (Safeguard liquid) at weeks 2, 4, and 7.  Heartworm medications are not started as the pups are too young but it is strongly recommended that once you get your new puppy you discuss heartworm medications with your vet.


Registering Your Puppy with AKC

There is a new option to register your puppy online.  Go to www.akc.org and enter in the number printed on the AKC application given to you. You will need to fill out the AKC application completely and accurately and send it in along with a processing fee.  You may also choose to order a pedigree which allows you to see back up to 5 generations. Shipping Information

We like for our puppies to be picked up by their new owners at our home.  This gives us a chance to meet you and it is the safest and least stressful method for our puppies to go to their new homes. 

We offer shipping via Delta PetFirst, but this is dependent upon weather conditions.  Our puppies will not ship if the weather is too hot or too cold and have to be cleared by our vet to fly.  If I ship your puppy to you, the cost will include the flight ticket, crate, vet flight certificate, and travel to the airport.  The best option for your pet is to fly as carry-on.  Please check with the airlines regarding the cost of this.
